Judy Ann Owczarzak

December 11, 1942 — June 21, 2024

Attica, NY - Judy Ann (Johnson) Owczarzak, age 81, entered eternity with her Lord and Saviour on June 21, 2024, at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility. Born on December 11, 1942, in Springville, NY, Judy was the beloved daughter of Walter and Julia (Resse) Johnson. Judy was lovingly raised by her Grandma and Aunt Laurena until the age of 9.

At the young age of 16, Judy and Donald were married on June 20, 1958. They shared 48 years together until Donald's passing on March 1, 2007, after a long battle with cancer.

Judy and Don endured the heartbreaking loss of their 10-month-old infant son, Joey. The tragedy of losing Joey inspired them to adopt and help children in need. They became foster parents to 14 children, adopted 3 children and babysat many others over the years.

Before dedicating herself to babysitting and foster care, Judy worked as a seamstress at the Darien Knitting Mill and a waitress at the Valley Inn in Warsaw.

Judy found joy in reading, watching westerns, and caring for her beloved cats. She proudly served on the Lady’s Firemen Auxiliary for several years and was a courageous breast cancer survivor.

A dedicated member of Attica First Baptist Church, Judy's faith was a cornerstone of her life. For over 20 years, she served as a Sunday School teacher, Release Time teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, Benevolence Treasurer for the missionary committee, and deaconess. She was also the Treasurer for the Wyoming County Bible Club. Her love for teaching children
about the Lord was her greatest passion, and her grandchildren were the light of her life.

Judy’s favorite hymn was #444, "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow," a reflection of her enduring faith and trust in God's plan. Judy's legacy of love, faith, and dedication to others will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. She is now at peace with the Lord, reunited with her husband, Donald, and all those who went before her.

Judy is survived by her children: Steven Owczarzak, Sandra Dolph, Jamie Soto, Heidi Owczarzak, and Donna Owczarzak; her grandchildren: Amber, Leanne, Adam, Cynthia, Lindsay, and her great-grandson, Logan. She is also survived by her loving siblings: Sue Miller and Jim (and Dee) Paugh; sister-in-law Kathy Johnson. Predeceased by her brother, John Johnson.
