Joan C. Waite

Joan C Waite, 88 passed away peacefully on March 3, 2018 at United Memorial Medical Center, Batavia. She was born on February 7, 1930 in Attica, to the late Elmo (Loretta Petz) Reding. Mrs. Waite is predeceased by her husband Merlyn "Rusty" Waite; brothers Bernard Reding and Father Aquinas Reding OFM of St. Bonaventure.

She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother who enjoyed baking, gardening and sewing. Mrs. Waite was actively involved with her parish Sts. Joachim & Anne, where she served as Eucharistic Minister, member of the funeral lunch committees and member of the Sunshine group. Joan was an active member of the Attica Historical Society for many years along with the Landmark society.

She is survived by her 4 children, Steven (Bhante Nalaka a Buddhist Monk) of Austin, TX; Patricia (Edward Tatman) Beauregard of Orchard Park; Paul (Elizabeth) of Houston, TX; Mark (Amy) Waite of Batavia; grandchildren Matthew Beauregard of Orchard Park; Art Tatman of the Philippines, Lianna Tatman of Orchard Park; Robert and Rachel Waite of Houston, TX; Alexandria (Eric) Almeter of Batavia; siblings Edmund (Jane) Reding, Richard (Mary Jane)Reding, Mary Beechler, Robert (Joann) Reding, along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 1-3 and 5 to 7 PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC. 135 Main Street, Attica, New York 14011. A 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Sts. Joachim & Anne Parish, 50 East Ave. Attica, NY 14011. She will be laid to rest in St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Attica.
