Gary G. Eck, 79, of Varysburg, passed away on December 21, 2023 at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Gary was born March 21, 1944 in Warsaw, a son of the late Glenn and Elsa (Ripstein) Eck.
Gary retired from the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office as a sergeant investigator after 34 years of service. He served with the Army Reserves and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, weightlifting, rides around the country and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, MaryAnn (Calmes) Eck of Varysburg; children, Kimberly (late Tony) Beck of Attica, Dean (Jen) Eck of Corfu, Glenn (Jenny) Eck of Corfu and Laura (Jim) Kirsch of Sheldon; grandchildren, Larissa (Brent Dickerson) Bailey, Nick Bailey, Tyler Beck, Jayden Eck, Joshua Kirsch, Matthew Kirsch, Elizabeth Kirsch, Veronica Kirsch, Zachary Kirsch, Theodore Kirsch and Jacob Kirsch; great-grandchildren, Maxwell Bradt, McKenzie Bailey, Caleb Dickerson, Noah Dickerson and Ally Bailey; nieces; nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Bailey and siblings, Glenna Laird, Dora Griffin, Richard Eck and Elsa Donnelly.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 28 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 North Main Street in Warsaw. Gary's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 29 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church - St. Cecilia - Sheldon, 991 Centerline Road, Strykersville. He will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery in Attica.
