Daniel R. Masterson, 82 of Darien, passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2018. He was born November 29, 1935 in Buffalo to the late John (Clara Ross) Masterson. Dan is preceded in death by several siblings.
Our Dad, Daniel R. Masterson, (Danny, Matty) decided it was time join his lifelong buddy “Uncle Larry” and soar with the eagles. As he enters heaven we realize he truly did leave quite a legacy that we can cherish every day in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He served in the US Marine Corp from 1953 till 1956 which included a tour in Korea. For a time he served as Commander of VFW Post 3180 in Akron NY. In his earlier years he was a window cleaner for JJ Gordon. He loved his time in life that he spent at Rushford Lake where he could fish, swim and spend time on his pontoon boat. He loved to socialize with family and friends and was a great lover of those special oatmeal raisin cookies. Dad was proud to accept the challenge of any puzzle, he was truly a master. Euchre and pinochle were his card games of choice and oh he was a tuff competitor. In his later years his computer room was where he spent his time... playing games and keeping up on family and friends. He also loved his property in Darien where he could sit and watch wildlife run. Rest easy Dad. You’ll be missed and loved always. We all know you loved us.... We can so clearly hear your response…“YEAH BUDDY!”
